Thai, translated into English as Thai Boxing, is the
national sport of Thailand and originated in the
ancient battlefield tactics of the Thai army. For
centuries, Thai rulers have attached great
importance to the training of their soldiers in the
skills of hand-to-hand fighting. Very often, the
rulers themselves were great fighters – strong,
valiant and skilled in the art. As a result, the
Thais have consistently proven their dominance on
the battlefield against foreign armies.
Thai Boxing matches allow the use of punches, kicks,
elbows, knees, and stand-up grappling. Conducted in
a safe setting, sophisticated pad training methods
develop devastating power and speed, as well as
superb cardiovascular endurance.

"Thai Boxing at Evolve Maryland is awesome! It’s
taken my workout to a whole new level of challenge
and fun! I am doing things in Evolve Maryland that I
never would have thought I’d even have the nerve to
try, not only Thai Kickboxing, but also pushups NOT
on my knees, climbing the rope and Jiu-Jitsu! The
instructors here are so encouraging and make me feel
like I am successful every day that I come in. After
a year of going to a regular gym and lifting
weights, I started coming to Evolve, stopped my
regular gym membership and improved my upper body
